A Saab press release from Germany this week seems to indicate that they’re pushing the Hirsch performance models a little more. Great news.

I’m relying on another dodgy internet translation, but Saab of Germany appear to have developed Hirsch models to be offered in line with their regular 9-3 and 9-5 counterparts as top-of-the-line models. If so, then I think it’s possibly a first for Hirsch, which has been pushed as an aftermarket supplier only up until this point (to my knowledge, anyway).

Hirsch, from Switzerland, is Saab’s official performance partner and Hirsch modifiactions come with full factory warranty and backing. The inclusion of Hirsch models into the standard lineup in the German market should provide a shot in the arm for one of Europe’s busiest markets, and a market that values performance.

I hope a few more national Saab offices take the lead from Germany and integrate Hirsch performance models into their standard offerings.

There’s one pic below, a very tasty shot of the Hirsch 9-3 convertible. There’s a whole heap more after the jump, including the 9-3 Sportcombi and the 9-5 SportWagon.

  1. Today I took my monthly drive to get more 100% biodiesel for the only Saab capable of burnin it here down the usual route, Roosevelt, passing way too many packed-full GM parking lots(no Saabs to be seen btw)…and you MBAs think a Hirsch wouldnt sell here? In the land of Ms, AMGs etal? Cmon.

  2. This whole Hirsch offering is almost like an untouched gold mine that Saab has not used effectively. In any market, no matter how big, small, emerging, etc etc the Hirsch branding will lift the profile and overall appreciation of all vehicles on offer immensely. If only GM can wake up to this reality.

  3. Guys,
The Hirsch thing wont kick off until they start doing the _SAME_ job as AMG or M. £850 for an extra 25Hp and calling it a tuning house is a joke. The Hirsche V6 should be a minimum of 350Hp and enough tourque to drag a Comet. nice pedals dont fool anyone…

And this is exactly what salesmen round the world will say to the people that bought perfomance by hirsch cars when they come to trade them in…
