US 9-2x clearout

As a service to those that might be interested, I spotted this on a forum called Slickdeals. This guy’s just snatched a 9-2x Linear 2.5 automatic for what seems to be a pretty sweet price. The word is that dealers are shifting heaven and earth to get them out the doors to make way for MY2007 vehicles – not 9-2x’s obviously.

Just picked up the Saab 9-2xi for $17,500 + tax, tag, and title. It’s an automatic with options (power sunroof & cold weather package). MSRP was $26,790. They’re clearing these cars out like hotcakes…..Since this car is no longer in production (only a limited number were produced in 2005 & 2006 only) and 2007 cars are starting to arrive on the lots, they need to get rid of these fast, so they dropped the price. Since GM is offering a $5000 rebate through 10/2, it gets another price drop. The one I purchased stickered for $26,790 then reduced to $24,990, then $19,990 after rebate. This is before I showed up and haggled.

There’s no Aeros left, but if you’re after a smallish reliable AWD wagon with a substandard interior (OK, I’m kidding – sort of) then this is your bargain opportunity.

  1. Damm thats a sweet deal, i actually dont mind these cars, Swedish no, but one modded with Suby aftermarket jobbies could make one mean Saab.

  2. Hah I was thinking what agriculture use could I think of for that Subaru.

Mainly because of old style awd, towing something, winter operating, difficult roads etc. 😀

  3. So funny, I got email today from customer about 9-2x.

My friend picked up the Saab 9-2xi for $17,500 + tax, tag, and title yesterday. It’s an automatic with options (power sunroof & cold weather package). MSRP was $26,790.He told me that GM is offering a $5000 rebate through 10/2 and also employee pricing.

now compare to to that story from slickdeals lol,lol

  4. I will sell this car for dealer net(invoice) minus $5000,here if you have GM employee or supplier discount you can buy 9-2x with standard transmission, sun roof, leather and cold weather package for:
    GM employee-$24393 minus $5000
    GM supplier-$25817 minus
    $5000
To get to this numbers you have to provide special number from GM.

  7. hehe. i hope GM have learnt their lesson with the 9-2X now.

*faint sound of “told you so” in the background*

i feel sorry for anyone who paid full price for a 9-2X. not just because they own a Superloo, but because its resale value just dropped $5000+.

  8. Dear Mo,Ron Carter is selling on average 5 SAABs a month, they have Hummers and Cadillac there and they can afford to offset 2-4K loss once in a blue moon.So you should remember that I told you guys to go there and buy a car and that I can’t meet that price.Be honest ;-)(remember, we were reading invoices)

  9. i was extremely close to purchasing a 9-2x ( the car had the sold sign with my name on it) but in the end i backed out. the initial drive was good but hearing many complaints about the quality really got me worried. many complained about cheap materials and three or four people had their engines totally damaged and rebuilt because of broken rods. the paint is terrible on that car and that is everyones main complaint. also insurance on this thing runs high. id rather get a used 1-2 year 9-3 than a new 9-2x
