Friday Short Snippets

Ryan at Saab Videos, or Saab History (both .coms will get you there) has a poll running with regard to a batch of videos he’s recently received.

He’s had eight reels donated to the archive, all bar one of them are 16mm films, which he’ll have to convert to digital. At a cost of around $60 per conversion he’s wondering which to do first as doing them all at once isn’t within the budget.

Head on over, take a look at the eight film titles and place your vote as to which you’d like to see first. And if you’d like to contribute to the cost of conversion, I’m sure he’d like to hear from you.

GM have a new key, capable of telling you all sorts of things.

Aren’t you wondering right now…..

Is someone playing music in the car while you’re away?
Do you have a headache?
Are your wheels still attached?
Do you know what the number ‘8’ looks like?
Is there a trumpet in your car?
Is the letter ‘i’ feeling suicidal?
Is there a barbershop nearby?
Is my tent erect?

It even has a button that’ll help you do a backflip! Sheesh, what’ll they think of next?

I’d highly recommend you go and visit My Saab Story to view one of the best Saab ads I’ve ever seen.

  1. Nice one!

Also has a donut counter, 2 doughies today, wonder if it comes up with a warranty void message on the third.

Also tells you if the padlock is fitted a-la Mr Bean.

  2. I also overlooked the fact that it’ll confirm that there’s no Vietnamese farmers sleeping in your rear seat.

    Oops.

    Donut counter. haha.

AND – it can tell you if you’re currently doing a mile or a kilometer.

    Very clever.

  3. There’s actually a donut button you can depress while you join the crowd watching your car make a smoke screen.

If you look closely there’s also a PSI reading so you can see how much boost you’re running at the time.

I believe the rectangle at the rear of the car also indicates how much fuel you’re leaking, particularly important for VE Holden Commodores.

  4. oh crap, i left Miles Davis in the boot.. no worries, i’ll press the big red button and launch him into orbit.

    those clever, clever men.

actually Swade that’s the Undo button, particularly useful in the event of prangs and missing turnoffs.

That button more looks like a redo button rather than undo as the arrow is going in forward motion.

I imagine it’s for when you do something really cool and want to do it again!

  6. Isn´t this the sort of key Saab have told us about for a year or two?
“Use the alcohol as fuel for the car, not as a feul for the driver”
The alcohol campain is for BioPower and says that an alcotester is a part of the new key… Is this the one?

  7. >> “Use the alcohol as fuel

so the keyfob will tell you if your 100 proof saturday morning breath is capable of running your car or not?! 😉

  8. Yepp! That´s is a way to use it.
I heard that this new alcotester will be a reality next year in new saabs.
You can start the car one (1) time while drunk…But then you will need to reprogram it at the local saabdealer…
