New BioPower Ad

The following ad has also been shot with a 9-3 SportCombi for the new Saab BioPower campaign.

It has titles in english as well, saying “The power of nature wants to be free. Release it”.

You can watch the english-language 9-3 version of it by clicking here. It’s also got a downloadable MP3 of the song – “Release Me” by Frida Örn.

This version is an ad for the 9-5 SportCombi and looks like an Eastern European version. I’m not sure if it refers to BioPower or not, but I think not.

  1. I have watched this commercial over a dozen times now.

    And, no, I am not sick of it yet. This is the best frickin’ ad I have seen in a long, long time! So very artistic and well edited. I really hope they put that in front of some faces here in the US.

  2. That’s a Saab Poland commercial.

    Moc Wyzwolona translates literally into “Force freed up”. So it’s not a BioPower commercial.

  3. Definetely better than ready steady mow, although the saabs look ‘cool’ in that commercial…

    yes… the ‘.pl’ at the end of the site leads me to believe Poland :).

  4. This is a bit off topic, but has anyone tried, or heard of anyone trying, to convert a 16 valve turbo out of a Classic 900 to BioPower and stick it in a B-Motor 900?

  5. While this ad is very artsy and evokes emotion, I’m afraid it isn’t very effective as a commercial.

    Will people rush to their SAAB dealer after seeing it to buy a new SAAB? Will they even remember what the commercial was an ad for?

    While I admire art, this is supposed to sell cars, which I doubt it will. IMHO, they need to get back to showing WHY SAABs are better than everyone else and how and why they’re different.

    I’ll agree with you that the best commercials would spell out why Saabs are better and yet different- my idea has been to list their unique achievements plainly in a commercial- a “guess who did all this?” type thing.

    That said, any commercial that would gain exposure for the brand is good, but more especially a commercial that captivates people. I don’t know about anyone else, but when I see the same type of boring car commercial with some vehicle driving around, I turn the channel. Hasn’t everyone found himself guessing sometimes who makes the commercial or what the product is? This is that type of commercial- it makes you wonder, “What’s this commercial for? What are they trying to sell?” It gives a sense of intrigue that most car commercials don’t offer.

    I’ll also take 25 seconds of an ideal (what buying a Saab means) and 5 of the car over 30 seconds of blah-blah due at signing, yada-yada per month.

    Of course, I could just be insane and not represent the average joe… 🙂

  7. There was something that resonated with me when I saw this commercial. It’s carefully crafted to present a niche brand which has captivated a few unique people who long for something different.

    It may be that Saab needs to stoop to the advertising ploys that draw in the rank and file. But, I kinda like being one of the few.

  8. Has anyone else been able to download the mp3 of “Release Me” by Frida Örn? I’ve tried Internet Explorer and Firefox and neither is able to download it. Some trick I don’t know?

  9. To get a copy of Release Me by Frida Orn, listen to it by clicking on the link on the Saab web page, then go to C:Documents and SettingsUSERLocal SettingsTemporary Internet Files and copy the ReleaseMe.mp3 file. Paste it to another location (it will appear as ReleaseMe[1].mp3
