Another c900 bites the dust

For those of you who aren’t familiar, Australia is divided into states. At the top of the political tree in each state there is a guy called The Premier. And from the genes of the Premier of Victoria, Steve Bracks, we have his idiot 20 year old son, Nick.

Yesterday morning Nick, with a blood alcohol level of 0.129, crashed his 4-door Saab 900 into a tree. He wasn’t injured, but the friend traveling with him suffered cuts and abrasions.

A shattered Mr Bracks struggled to comprehend his son’s actions yesterday, saying he could not believe he had done it and “I didn’t see this coming”.

“He’s been an absolute idiot,” the father of three said, adding: “This has really shocked me.

“I just felt hopeless and useless, and you can’t help feeling a bit of a failure in some ways as a parent.”

Nick escaped injury in the crash, which happened about 4.30am at the junction of Melbourne Rd and Hosking St, Williamstown, just blocks from the Bracks family home.

He later returned a blood-alcohol reading of .129.

Mr Wilson, who was travelling in the back seat, received several deep cuts after the car went out of control and slammed into a tree, caving in the right back door.

Another Saab giving its life to protect its occupants, even if they’re drunk and endangering themselves and others.

Maybe Steve Bracks should get an AlcoKey with the next one? Here’s the car. I don’t think the black cat had anything to do with the accident.

  1. Isn’t it Saturday there now? So the day of this accident was Friday the 13th, right? Maybe that black cat didn’t run out in front of that SAAB, but it appears many unlucky forces conspired in this case! πŸ˜›

  2. At least they didn’t sugar coat the story like here in the US. The media would find a way to ‘spin’ it if a celebrity or politician’s kid did this.

    Imagine on the evening news…
“In related news, the Bush twins have filed a lawsuit against the Washington D.C. Department of Transportation who is responsible for placing the guardrails alongside the highway in which the girls crashed into stating, ‘If those big metal thingie’s weren’t there, we wouldnta wrecked our Jag…’ Guard rails, traffic devices once thought to save people, are reportedly on a bill to be abolished.”

I love the part where he says, β€œHe’s been an absolute idiot,”.

  3. Vive le C900!

And, Nevitz — it’s Albert Gore, Jr.’s kid in the news for this most recently, NOT the Bush twins. Just for the record.

And,I do like the premier’s plain spoken explanation.

  4. Looks like there’s a customized black grille on that c900.

I look at that picture and think of all the parts I could use. (Then I remember what shipping from Australia would run)

  5. Nice to see that a guy who could probably afford all sorts of stuff for his kids has had them scooting around in an old Saab. Its what my kids will have for first cars thats for sure,

Wonder what the accident might have looked like if he’d been in a Daewoo?
