Another beautiful 2008 Saab 9-3

I’m not sure what’s going on with this one. Whether its a tuning house showing off what they can do, or if it’s for sale.

UPDATE – apparently it’s for sale. It was sent to me by Andreas in Switzerland and he got it from Autoscout24.de

But dang, it sure looks good and is worth looking over again and again. Those wheel arches sure look good all filled up with wheel like that.

I just wonder where they got one so early to tune up and then offer for sale. Lucky buggers!

  1. Sweet! Have to say, and I knows its not a popular preference on this site, but the black is just stunning on the 9-3 – I love the new chrome work and the lustre of that paintwork…..makes a 3-series look soo dull.

  2. I guess it is a Performance Version of a 9-3 Aero… you can get it in Swizerland even via Configurator!! If you ever go there, you will notice lots of Saabs with Hirsch Parts mounted… I have not seen so many… really in bunches the last time I drove to Zรผrich… So its no wonder, that there’s already 1 for sale. A dealer in Leipzig/Germany has one beauty in artic white / Vector trim fully equipped for sale… We wanted to wait until the 1.9TTid will be delivered, but there’s this rumor, that Saab has some problems with this machine in production…

  3. I looked it up…It’s just a Demo Car, that has recently arrived… these Demos have been avalaible since early July… as if Germany gets the first production cars… maybe or hopefully they want to push the market share over here [0,14 percent]

  4. Isn’t it a standard 2.8 Aero with bigger wheels?

They look like 19″ rims with very low profile tyres, very nice :).

Does anyone know which markets get the new Yellow? It looks like the UK isn’t getting it ๐Ÿ™ Not on the UK brochure or on the UK website.

  5. we don’t have it in Germany,Switzerland,Austria,Sweden… its not even on the International Site… and you are right. For its a german car, this one is a standard 2.8T with wheel mounted by the Saab Dealer here

  6. Kaz, Saffron yellow will be introduced in the UK for model year 2008.5 so we should see it sometime in the new year. As for the TTiD UK dealers can now order the car for delivery in December.

  7. now we’re seeing some heritage in an updated format. nice. thank you, gm. and the design language is getting very close to seducing me.

  8. All right, all right. I’ve come around. That looks fabulous. I still hate the raccoon-eyed rear lights, but man, that is one sweet ride. It’s got the same gritty grin that my mom’s first-generation (if facelifts can be considered generations) 9-5 wagon has, and it’s together in a way that the chunky, admittedly endearing front fascia of last year’s model wasn’t.

  9. SWEET ride! Those wheels
    fit, big time. Thank goodness
    it’s manual transition, or it
    would be a tremendous waste
    of car.

  10. holy smokes. is that gorgeous or is that gorgeous?!

i have sent these pics to several non-Saabisti friends soon to be in the new car market. in addition, my g/f is already looking at ways to get rid of her Civic for an 08 SS in black.

i think this is going to sell like gangbusters….i just hope the whole onstar/bluetooth thing doesn’t hurt first impressions…..at least until those test drivers get a kick of torque in the pants… ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. We haven’t even started full on with the 08 new generation yet and this example is already showing the potential impact that these new models are going to have. Really, Saab is in a golden position to regain some lost ground very soon after whole line up is out. Those wheels and suspension rework elevate this car tremendously.
