As if you needed another reason to try and get along to see Messrs Clarkson, Hammond and May presenting some of the hottest cars in the world live on stage, this year’s MPH show will feature the UK debut of the Saab Turbo X.
There was a writeup on the show in The Times Online and Terry D was kind enough to transcribe a copy for use on the site.

The Turbo X is making its UK debut at the MPH show and exists to celebrate Saab’s 30 unbroken years of making turbocharged cars. All Turbo Xs will be jet black and enjoy a 280bhp version of the twin-turbo 2.8 litre engine found in other Saabs. Its handling has been tweaked to cope with the extra power. Inside there’s a turbo boost gauge that’s a replica of the one used in the original 900 Turbo. And (?) when you turn the ignition on a “ready for take-off” sign flashes on the dash, which according to your mood, you may find amusing, inspirational or rather irritating.”
Interesting that they don’t mention XWD at all in the blurb, which is probably the main feature of the car.
MPH is on at two venues:
At Earl’s Court from November 1-4, and at the NEC (whatever that is) in Birmingham from November 8-11.
