Santa Clara Saabers – bargain time!

Tom L has sent through a promotion from his local Saab people at BB Saab in Santa Clara.

In addition to the SaabUSA cash and loyalty cash, they’re offering an extra $1500 dealer discount on certain 2007 models, meaning you can save $7,500 off the sticker prce of a 2007 Saab 9-3 Sport Sedan or SportCombi.

They’ve got 6 Aero sedans and 6 Convertibles with this offer as at the time of printing, but methinks thay may not all hang around for too long.

They’ve also got 6 Saab 9-7x’s at around $10,000 off sticker.

Head on over to BB at the link above to read the conditions, but they’re pretty standard. Sounds like a very attractive offer for those interested in picking up an 07 model.

  1. Good pickup, Jeff. and there I am also writing “prce” – which I’ll leave in so as to keep this comment relevant.

Hadn’t taken much notice of loyalty cash before. Will have to look up the conditions under which it’s given. I see on the ad that it’s post-94 vehicles, but is it just that you own one that’ll get you the cash, or do you have to trade it in?

  2. yeah but their typo is in an ad! 🙂

my guess is you just have to prove you own one. in my area, dealers rarely take trades more than 7 years/90K old. they typically advise you to sell your older car yourself.

  3. Wow, I feel double dumb. I should have picked up on the fact that anyone could have guessed what “owner loyalty” means, and also I missed that typo twice.

  4. Thanks, Swade for posting this B&B piece.
Regarding SAAB’s owner loyality program, beware:
I leased a 2007 Saab 9-5 from a Northern California dealer in July 2007. The overall experience was a pleasant one. One thing that made me decide on replacing my 2001 Saab for a 2007 Saab 9-5 Aero SportCombi was the Owner Loyalty Program which included a $1,000 check from SAAB. In order for me to acquire a new SAAB, I sold my 2001 SAAB 9-5 Aero SportWagon in June 2007 to a private party in Sacramento.
During the lease transaction with the salesman stated, “Tom, bring in Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) proof of ownership (like a previous registration) and I’ll send you a check for $1,000.” My partner was present during the entire transaction he served as witness to the claim by their sales associate.
Since I had sold the 2001 SAAB with the DMV paperwork, I did not have the previous registration with me at the time. As suggested by the sales staff, I applied for a copy of ownership from the California DMV and mailed it along with a June 2007 SAAB recall notice addressed to me (sludge), proof of insurance on my 2001 SAAB through calendar year 2007 and an article from the San Francisco Chronicle I wrote on my love for SAAB from April 2006. Since I sold the 2001 a new owner to acquire a new SAAB in June and replace it just 8 days into July, I was told the offer was void per the dealership since I didn’t include the actual registration.
I took my case to the next level, the dealer owner.
If anyone on this planet is a SAAB loyalist, it’s those of us that read “” daily like me!
The good news is that I continued my quest by contacting the Northern California SAAB factory rep and he graciously offered to “make good” on the offer. I understand the offer is good only on ’94 and above SAABs, by the way….
I love my 2007 SAAB Aero SportCombi but hope readers will beware of special offers.

  5. Tom,
I always understood the ‘loyality’ discount only to apply to current owners at the time of the deal, not previous owners, so I can see why they balked. I can’t see that they mislead you; rather, I think they were very gracious to give it to you anyway. Anytime money is offered by a company, they usually have very specific perimeters.
Btw, current ‘loyality’ money is for 1999 and newer on the SAAB USA site, so if the dealer offers for 1994 do you think that is coming out of his hide?

  6. e.g. here’s the language straight off the SAAB USA’s current offer page:
§ Must show proof of current ownership or lease of 1999 or newer Saab model. Includes owner loyalty cash. These offers replace the current $500 lease loyalty offer. Take delivery by 1/2/08. See dealer for details
