Vive LA Saab 900 2-door – part 2

….please note the feminine gender written in this time šŸ˜‰

After my weekend post on the Saab 900 2-door, and the fact that there weren’t many images around of that model, my inbox was inundated with pictures.

Here’s a selection. There’s some great looking Saab here. I’ve always thought that if I were ever going to get a track car that it’d be one of these. Slightly stiffer body, and they can look pretty sharp with the right setup.

Given the fact that this is the first time in two-and-a-half years and 3,200 articles that I’ve covered this body style specifically, I figure it’s something that’s well worth paying a little more attention to. And given than next month’s the month of hatch-loving, a little two-door action seems appropriate.

I’m still a bigger fan of the two-door 99, but some of these look pretty slick.

Enjoy.

  1. IMO, I think the 3/5-door 900 are more “Saab” because of the more rounded design. The 2/4-door 900 has some sharp design elements at the back, and while I remember thinking it was a really great looking car when it arrived it hasn’t (for me) stood the test of time the same way as the others. There is too much 1980 in the design. šŸ™‚

  2. Beauty’s in the eye of the beholder; but clever photographers help.

I have to agree that the two door has not been my favorite design. But these pictures sure helped make the 2 door look better than in person. I especially liked pictures 1, 3, 10, and 13. Clean and simple is what I like.

  3. You know, I’ve always thought that the 2-door was a great ‘change of pace’ tweak on the 900 design, much as the hatch was a great tweak on the 99 design. That white one — wow.

These pictures are depressing — they remind me of the work that I’ve not yet done on the ‘vert. Perhaps this winter I’ll get a little more time.
