Today a few of the local Saab nuts got together for a drive. There was only three cars – Drew B, Saabill and I – but it was a brilliant afternoon. We were joined by Brendan B, NSW chairman of the Saab Car Club of Australia and part-time Swedish tourist.
If you ever come and visit Tassie, here’s your route for an absolute cracker of an afternoon drive. Click to enlarge. There’s views aplenty as you saunter along through the foothills of Mt Wellington and along the river. None of the views in these photos, though, except those that were there where we parked the cars.
Click on any of the photos to enlarge. There’s a feature on the yellow Saab 95 coming soon.
Drew B on the road between Cygnet and Woodbridge. The numberplate SB-0095 came with the car. My old 99T (which now belongs to Saabill) has the plate SB-0099.
For the record, that’s a 1973 Saab 95 V4, a 1985 Saab 900 Aero and a 1993 Saab 900 Turbo.
Bill’s 900 has a brilliant silver set of minilites on it, complete with Saab stamping on the outer rim. The car’s got a biscuit leather interior and a genuine redbox installed. Vrmm Vrmm.
A little detail on those Ronals…..
