Saab of Hunterdon receives first Turbo X order

Here’s a fun circular story for you…

A few days ago I got an email from a guy wondering if a sunroof came standard on the Saab Turbo-X. I replied that I was pretty sure it did, and that there should be a decent specs list in the Turbo X archives.

Guy emails back. He’d confirmed the sunroof issue with his dealer and placed his order for one!

And the dealer concerned was site sponsor, Saab of Hunterdon, in New Jersey. It was their first Turbo X order and everone concerned is very happy at the outcome. They’ve even got a photo of him on their blog πŸ™‚

Comgratulations Jeff (the buyer), and SOH!

Jeff came to his Saab decision after some very thorough research and his story makes for a very interesting one. I hope it’s one that Saab might be able to replicate time and again in the next few years.

Jeff has a blog, and he tells his decision-making story here.

  1. That was fun to read. I too am in a similar place, trying to decide what I will do next as my lease is up on my 2006 9-5 ( A relative of Kaylans sold it to me, I saw her 9000 2 years ago and it was already a monster) I have had 3 9-5’s and I just bought my fiance a combi aero, lightly used which she loves. I love Saab and have been a loyal supporter since I first discovered the C900. Besides for the aesthetic appeal, and performance the safety has played a big role for me as I have had 2 Saabs give their life for me. ( both due to other peoples wreckless driving in Seattle. My favorite Saab a Cosmic blue 9-5 aero helped me survive getting rear ended when I was stopped on the highway, by a GMC jimmy going 50MPH).
I have never had the same affection for my 2006, it is a great car but I think I am sick of Steal Grey I want some color. The Turbo-x is on my list because of it’s new technology and as a flag bearer for saab. It being rare is also something that appeals to me. Things I am less enthused about are, that they are all black ( I already have a black Alfa Romeo 164) and the 9-3 has never been my favorite, obviously it is still an awesome car. I really just want to try something different. What should I do. Should I get a Turbo-x? Or just get a 9-3 Aero with the XWD..? then again I could just wait for the new 9-5 :). Sorry for the long winded post. No other car companies ( in my price range) besides Alfa really appeals to me and I can’t afford an 8C + I live in the US so none are here yet anyways. I guess there are much worse things to worry about!

  2. That was a great read.

One of the enjoyable things about this site and owning a Saab is reading about the experiences people go through buying and selecting there particular vehicles.

  3. hehe, I ordered my turbo-x blind (without knowing the exact cost from my local dealer here in germany) with all extras right after the iaa.
    i didnt got any mention from germany …. πŸ™ …. :-))))

  4. Wow, they used my video on their blog. πŸ˜€

Mr. Aero, I did the exact same thing, and there is still no official pricing available for Canada. I hope I am not in for a nasty surprise.

  5. Kroum,

Awsome job on that video. Hope you don’t mind my using it on our blog. I played it for Jeff when he was ordering his Turbo X so you were actually involved in the process :).

  6. Scot, do not mind at all! Actually, I am quite pleased to see the video making rounds. πŸ™‚

This is the second time my morph is involved in a Turbo X sale, I should be contacting Saab AB directly for commissions, haha!

Or perhaps just ask them for a free Turbo X, would save me 1K a month. πŸ˜€
