Once again, we journey towards Saabtopia, taking just a little more Saab pride with us along the way. The Saab Pride of Ownership competition is going full steam ahead, with entries coming in from all around the world.
Today’s entry is from Jeroen, in The Netherlands. I must apologise as this one should have been out before Christmas, but I’m trying to be disciplined and get them on site in the order they arrived, so I’m a little late here.
Cast your minds back to December 24th, then read on. As always, click to enlarge.
This is my Saab 9-3 2.2 Tid S (MY 2001) in front of the most recognizable landmark in my region, the Gerbrandy Tower. This is the
main tower in the Netherlands for radio and tv broadcasting and telecommunications. And it is more or less in my back yard…
As you can see it is transformed into a giant christmas tree. Every year a group of residents try to do this. With heavy fundraising
within the local community they succeeded again this year. (see: www.degrootstekerstboom.nl)
For me it is the grand finale of the year in which I bought my first Saab. Of course I knew Saab before, but was really drawn to the brand with the introduction of the 9-3 Sports Sedan and especially the SportsCombi. Someday I will buy that one, but for now it is still out of my budget. But to get the Saab driving experience I decided to buy this one. I am very, very pleased with it!
I wish you, the Mrs, and the fellow readers of your blog a very merry Christmas and all the best for 2008!
Again, my apologies to Jeroen for missing the timing on this one, and a great 2008 to you, too!
