Today’s entry comes from Kaz, in London. He has a rather fortunate arrangement going where he gets a new Saab around every six months or so. Naturally, an 08 was never far away, and he got his very soon after release.
I finally managed to get out last night and take some pics of a place called Luton Hoo which is about 5 minutes from my home. It is a magnificent building, originally built in 1767, and is regarded as one of Britain’s greatest treasure houses. It was designed by an architect by the name of Robert Adams for the 3rd Earl of Bute. It was rebuilt in 1843 after a fire, at this point the grand portico entrance was added, which is what you see in these pictures.
The building is too large to encapsulate in a single picture, so I have also attached an aerial shot of the mansion.
The mansion is now no longer open to the public and has been turned into a luxury hotel & spa. Which is a shame as I would have loved to have been able to show some interior shots. The website of Luton Hoo is here, www.lutonhoo.co.uk
The car is my beloved daily runner. A ’08 MY 2.8V6 Saab 9-3 convertible in Snow Silver. The trim is Aero with a cream leather interior and with the Business Pack, Convenience Plus pack and 18″ alloy upgrades. The engine sounds fabulous and I am hoping to try and get a soundbyte of the beast storming through a tunnel, it would be rude not share that lovely noise :).
My admiration and appreciation of the Saab brand has been highlighted before here, I think I wrote my most passionate piece in this post which Swade so kindly put on the front page.
The next shot is from Wembley Stadium. All footie fans should know about this place. I can actually see the massive arch from my office in Hammersmith which is a good 5 or 6 miles away.
I had to be quick here, as I could hear the whirring of security cameras behind me, and one isn’t really supposed to be there. So I only had the opportunity to take pics of one position of the car and being able to get the Stadium in shot too.
I so hope I don’t get a ticket for the Wembley shot 🙂 , all worth it for Saab though, long live the Blue Griffin Badge!
