Saab PhoeniX Concept prepares to take flight

Greetings from New York, where preparations for the New York International Auto Show are well and truly underway. I’m writing to you from the Saab stand, which is still under construction leading up to the first press day on Wednesday.

Whilst we’re beavering away here at the Jacob Javits center, the Saab PhoeniX Concept is sitting in waiting, ready to make it’s North American debut at the show. How does a one-of-a-kind concept car keep an appointment nearly half way around the world?

Very carefully…..

If you can make it to the Javits Center from April 22 to May 1, you’ll get to see PhoeniX, as well as the new Saab 9-4x, the new Saab 9-5 SportCombi and the rest of the Saab range.

Saab will be conducting a number of press events in New York over the next few days, culminating in their official press conference on Thursday morning. I’ll be attending all events and reporting on them here at Inside Saab.

  1. Waiting with bated breath to get to the NY Auto Show on Thursday to see the PhoeniX and all the Saabs. Attending through my job at Beck Chevrolet-Saab in Yonkers. Thursday just can’t get here soon enough!!!!

  2. Under the pump as usual, did you think it was going to be any easier going “official”?

Nice portrait by the way… neat casual yet tough…..

Oh, you look OK too Swade.

  3. Hi Swade,

Welcome back to the USA. I wish I could visit the car show, I am actually traveling the last weekend to Europe but time is to short for a stop in NY City.

I have always enjoyed your postings on SaabsUnited and I am looking forward to InsideSaab (must be such a good place to be). I know I should give SaabsUnited a chance, but so far I have trouble with the multiple voices and writing styles.

You have now giving me a new site to check everyday, just as before. Can’t wait for what you will bring.

    Good on ya mate,

    Nico

  4. Liked it from the start but PhoeniX keeps growing on me, looks even better outdoors. Just imagine new 9-3 with electric rear axle, IQon, Phoenix-ish styling and a hatch – WOW!
