There must be something is this ethanol thing. Ferrari are even thinking of going down that road. Mind you, they’d have to sell them all in Sweden, where the filling stations are most common, as you’d need to fill a Ferrari pretty frequently if you’re driving in a manner that gets the most fun out of it. —— Winding Road are asking which car is the ultimate sleeper? Saab owners interested in responding should click here. —— Ryan at Saab History got some brief camera time with Bryan Nesbitt, the head of design for GM in North America. He was […]
I’ve had a couple of links come through via email to this video overnight. Thanks to all who sent them through. You’ve all probably seen the video I shot with Kenneth Backlund from the Saab Performance Team at the 9-3 launch event in Sweden back in June. This new video was also shot at the same event, using the same car(s) and on the exact same track. The great thing about this video is that they must have had heaps of cameras there because there’s a lot of external shots as the car progresses around the track. Enjoy.
There’s been some renewed interest in the Saab 9x concept car due to the Design series from last week, and the overhead comparison photos with the Aero-X. MarkoA asked in comments if there’s video of the Saab 9x – and there is. I had it posted once previously, but it seems to have been removed by whoever loaded it onto Google’s server. Thankfully, there’s another copy on YouTube. So here it is! Either this or the 9-3x would be a worthwhile template for the Saab 9-1 of the future. No doubt about it.
Whilst I store, and source, most of the video from this site from either YouTube or Google Video, did you know that you can watch or download a whole range of Saab videos from GM Europe Web TV? GMEWTV (how’s that for an acromyn?) is available to all-comers and carries a range of modern Saab videos covering recent new vehicle releases and motor shows. You can watch them at the site, or download them in either M4V, quicktime or WMV formats. Yes, download them onto your own machine for free! Here’s an example of the type of material they’ve got […]
Gunnar Heinrich has very kindly loaded up what I guess you’d call a pilot video, featuring the Saab 9-3 Convertible. Gunnar’s making some very, very good videos now and I’ve featured his BMW 7-series video here before. This 9-3 Convertible video was shot early this year and it’s videos like this one that help Gunnar and his crew cut their teeth and hone their skills for the videos they’re making now. The new ones do feature some higher production values, but this one is fantastic viewing and I hope they re-make it when time permits. I believe access to the […]
A guy called NobleP on Youtube has put together some great XWD videos in the last few months. Here’s another. NobleP is basically making his own XWD advertisements here for the online community. A great little bit of ambassadorial work if you ask me. Not only that, but he’s got a 10-minute clip on Saab’s history there as well. Check out all of his videos here. And enjoy this one. Makes you want to get in and DRIVE!
Robin M (unofficially Saab GB’s best salesman) has shot through a link from Saab Global on the making of the latest ad for the 2008 Saab 9-3. It’s the one featuring the sofa chairlifts and the egg chair and all that stuff – oh, the car too. It was a little surprising to find that the ad was shot in Italy. This clip runs for about three minutes and shows you some of the behind-the-scenes stuff that goes into making a TV commercial. You can view it by clicking here. And if you haven’t seen the ad itself yet, here’s […]
My thanks to Gripen for sending this one on. He usually sees this webridesTV stuff when he’s at his local carwash, where they run it on big plasma screens. He’s got his kids well trained, too. The other day they were there with this TV show in the background and “Ready Steady Go” came on. Gripen’s 10 year-old pricked up his ears instantly. Problem was it was being used as background for a Ferrari piece. Anyways, WebridesTV has done a piece on the Turbo-X and I can see why I haven’t come across them before. Primarily, it’s because their stuff […]
I guess it’d be too much to let this ad pass my radar screen without saying something about it….. Comments in the original post for this ad were pretty scathing, and I guess I don’t have too much to add that’s going to give Saab any relief. I think Wulf hit the nail on the head: If this came from the old advertising agency, I can’t wait to see the work from the new one. If this is from the new agency, someone please call Mr. Shannon and ask what is up with this For a major refresh of Saab’s […]
This is so fresh it may not even be fully loaded on Google’s servers yet. Keep checking back and hitting refresh if it doesn’t work. Acquired with permission from the Saab of Hunterdon blog. Apparently it should be hitting US airwaves soon (the ad, not the blog 🙂 )
